And the "Discussion" Award Goes to: Trustee Verciglio! Bravo!

In what was probably one of the most civil meetings in Island Lake's recent history, I was very pleased Thursday night when during the committee of the whole board meeting Trustee Verciglio showed us all, like a pro, how to bring issues to the board in a public setting and inform the board and public what the issue is about, what is needed and how it will get done. Bravo! Trustee Verciglio.

Thursday night Trustee Verciglio had three items on the agenda in which he shared handouts and discussed the needs, whyn and how they were going to get done or be paid for. Below are the three items presented by the trustee and all include DISCUSSION in the sentence!

1. Discussion of Lake County CDBG 2010
2. Discussion of Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network (IPWMAN) 
3. Discussion of paving of Converse Park

If any trustee now comes to the voting meeting and says they do not know anything about these issues at voting time, no excuses...Verciglio presented the information, answered questions and asked for a vote to be added to the agenda next week. This is all I have been asking for from this board and I hope this also satisfies the needs of other trustees and the public.
