"Laurie is a wolf in sheep's clothing"....As someone wrote about me in the newspaper comments section; yet not man or woman enough to sign their REAL name, yet I'm supposedly the one pretending to be something else.
If spending my spare time writing on this blog and keeping up a website for video taped meetings with my own camera, so the people of this village can freely watch and decide for themselves on issues—if that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If wanting a transparent government is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If wanting to allow residents to know what is going on at any time regarding our village finances, and processes, and that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If wanting to maintain our American rights regarding free speech and the right to confront your government, and that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If I want programs to promote safety for children in our village, and that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If wanting to open the village projects up for bid to ALL, even when the project isn't at the legal threshold but because it encourages competition and gives everyone a shot at business, and can save the village money, if that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If I want elected officials to conduct themselves on the side of the law, and that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If I have no personal agenda or gain in what I do and that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If wanting a village manager to help run the village more efficiently is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
If I want our village to prosper and encourage a community of unity, and that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I am guilty!
I am not always right and I don't always have the answers, but I've been giving this village my time and attention and my best efforts. My intentions are for the good of the people. I have no personal gain or personal agenda. And, I've always put my name out there in everything I write—whether it is on this blog or in the newspaper; I do not hide behind a fake name. And if that is a wolf in sheep's clothing, so be it.
